School of Visual Communication Design
School of visual communication design, set up in 1983, is the earliest independently constructed school for graphic design, an advanced teaching organization of Shandong province, a school to draw up the national advertisement design professional standard from the cooperation program with Germany, the national “IGD” excellent design organization. The school owns the only provincial important subject of the art design class -----the graphic art design subject. Now the school sets up 4 undergraduate course majors of brand and enterprise image design, plane advertisement design, package design and book design, and the Bachelor of Arts will be conferred.
There are 28 teachers, including 4 professors and 9 associate professors. A lot of teachers were awarded the honor titles of the national excellent teachers, the provincial level young and middle age academic leaders and the national excellent designers. There are more than 600 students of undergraduate level and postgraduate level.
The school owns the teaching and testing equipments with the national advanced level. Only during the period of “ninety-five plan”, 4 provincial level achievements in scientific research were obtained, more than 40 papers were published in the national important academic journals. 150 design articles won the prize in the different national and provincial design competitions. They have got the silver and excellent prize in the national arts articles exhibition, more than 100 works were chosen to be exhibited in the international exhibitions. The works of the students have also won a lot of international golden prizes in the world advertisement design competition and in the world university student photography competition.
