School of Modern Handicraft Art

  School of modern handcraft art, set up in 2001, owns 4 specialties of dyeing and knitting and tapestry arts, glass and ceramics arts, special arts and metal crafts and travel products design. The school has the four-year system undergraduate course and 20 teachers, including 3 professors and 7 associate professors. There are 4 labs; among them the tapestry art lab is the provincial first class lab. There are also teaching practical bases constructed together with the social enterprises.

  The teachers in the school have published more than 30 papers, more than 10 works and painting collections, they have finished 3 provincial level scientific research projects, and more than 50 works gained prizes. More than 50 pieces of works from the students won the prizes from the national and provincial competitions, and more than 1000 pieces of design works were adopted by the society. In recent years, the main scientific research projects and teaching achievements are as follows: <the color Baidaili water-washed technology>, <braiding in computer>, <drawn work and wall decoration>, < design on Chinese lucky decoration>.

  The tapestry works of <friendship living forever> was sent to the government of Republic of Korea as the gift by Jinan city government and won the excellent creation prize of Jinan city government. The works <I want the golden> was chosen to be shown in the 2nd national arts exhibition and won the arts works 1st prize of Shandong province. The wall decoration <without title>, <structure> won the special prize in the international fibre arts two-year exhibition, the works <heart rain>, <rhythm>, <melting> and < sprout> won the 2nd, 3 rd and excellent prizes in the first glass works exhibition.
