International exchange

1) Mr. Bernhard von Gruenberg, mitglied des Landtags in NRW from Germany paid Shandong University of Art and Design an official visit in Oct 2003. Mr. Pan Lusheng, president of SUAD introduced the history and development of university and cooperation with other foreign universities, and wished that both Universities could cooperate with each other. Mr. Bernhard von Gruenberg was very glad to know a lot about Shandong University of Art and Design and he said the academic exchange between Shandong University of Art and Design and German art and design universities would be promoted and strengthened.

2) Ms. Elizabeth Maclarty, dean of faculty of design management of Staffordshire University visited Shandong University of Art and Design in Feb 2004. Mr. Pan Lusheng, president of Shandong University of Art and Design introduced Shandong University of Art and Design and both sides agreed to make the academic cooperation in the fields of design management.

3) Mr. Ivo M. Martinac, president of the international education and management of the Royal Institute of Technology Sweden paid Shandong University of Art and Design an academic visit in April 2004. The guests visited the museum and Sun Changlin art gallery. The two sides thought that they have a lot of cooperation point and the unity of science and art will promote the development of science and technology. Science needs art and art also needs science. Hence, the two universities agreed to develop some academic cooperation in the near future.
