The School of the Applied Design

  The School of the Applied Design, as one teaching organization of Shandong University of Arts and Design, has the same function with the other departments. At present, there is the major of art design, including 3 specialties of printing design, advertisement design and furniture design. The study system is four-year system with the bachelor of arts. It is planned that the institute will reach to 2000 students, and to 10 specialties till the year of 2008.

  The school emphasizes on the combining of the theoretical teaching with the enterprise practical teaching, and develops the design art education with the practice as the guiding line. The institute integrates and optimizes the teachers resources to establish the advanced teaching platform and provide the international and national newly design ideas and methods so that the integration of the teaching, exchange and practice will be promoted. To widen the design view, to know the multiple culture well, to exchange and cooperate with the design universities, design companies and enterprises widely at home and abroad, to invite the famous foreign and domestic designers, scholars and experts to lecture, to cultivate the modern complex senior designers, who have the modern design ideas, know the technique and methods well, and could combine the theory and practice, are always the guiding principle of the department of the applied design.

 

  Shandong University of Art and Design also offers postgraduate programs in: art design, science of design and science of arts. The degrees awarded are Master of Arts for fine arts.
